Thomas Bürger of Geroldshausen, Bavaria

Thomas Bürger's farm and contracting company are located in Geroldshausen, Northern Bavaria, south of Würzburg, on the edge of the Ochsenfurter Gau. The sugar-beet harvest began there in 2006 and developed constantly. In 2013, there were already 4 euro Tiger V8s in use. These were followed by three Tiger 6s in 2018 and 2019. Due to the good cooperation with ROPA, the service with highly motivated employees, and many years of good experiences, three new Tiger 6Ses were purchased for this year's harvest. Practical developments and the networking of the machines with the R-Connect online portal increase the efficiency and make handling much easier. Drivers and customers alike are enamored of the patented hydraulic chassis system with slope compensation.

Integral leaf-layer or leaf ejector

The integral leaf layer shreds the beet leaves and deposits them between the rows. A press of the button in the cabin switches the machine. When operating with leaf ejection the shredded beet leaves are spread over the harvested area by a leaf-spreader with a leaf auger feeding the leaves to it. An optional leaf collection conveyor can be installed for harvesting beet leaves (biogas or dairy). Thank you to driver Ernst Maxem.

A few impressions of the sugar beet harvest with the new ROPA Tiger 6S and a Panther

The harvesting community centered in Rosdorf near Göttingen is active in Lower Saxony, Hessia, and Thuringia.

In the nature reserve south Lower Saxony, hilly land and the transition to the Harz Mountains, the sugar beets often grow in hilly fields with medium-heavy and heavy soil. The EGW uses its five ROPA machines – three Tigers and two ROPA Panthers – to harvest more than 4,000 hectares.

In the middle of the fall, it's time to harvest the sugar beets where wheat should be planted. Things started out under the best conditions. An explanatory video about the Tiger 6S in good Bavarian.
