The future of hydraulic connection in agriculture

Presenting e-LS connect At Agritechnica in Hannover, ROPA and Fendt presented a significant development in hydraulic systems communication between tractor and implement. For the first time, the new system enables a completely electronic transmission of the oil pressure signal via the ISOBUS without a separate hydraulic load sending control line. With this, the tractor and implement are more precise, efficient, and the system is more stable.

From hydraulics to electronics – a practical technological advance

For about 30 years, communication of the oil pressure between the tractor and implement has been handled by a hydraulic load sensing line.
With e-LS connect, we have digitalized this connection: The required oil pressure is transmitted electronically by the implement via the ISOBUS to the tractor, where the pump provides exactly the right volume flow.
Components such as the pressure control valves, sensors, and LS control lines are no longer required – which reduces possible sources of errors, increases operational security, and simplifies the coupling and uncoupling of machines.

More dynamism, greater efficiency, better harvest quality

In practical use, the ROPA Keiler 2 RK22 potato harvester shows off the strengths of the e-LS connect. The working hydraulics respond even faster and more precisely, as demonstrated by the bunker emptying function, for example. At the same time, diesel consumption drops since the hydraulic pump always works with the optimal control pressure difference. The result: greater efficiency, improved harvest quality and increased profitability.

Focus on sustainability and comfort

Eliminating hydraulic couplings prevents oil leakage and dirt ingress – a clear contribution to protecting the environment. Operation is also more convenient: the driver no longer has to adjust any control pressure differences.
Starting in June 2026, already operating Fendt tractors of the 500 Vario Gen4, 600 Vario, 700 Vario Gen7/7.1 and 800 Vario Gen5 series can be prepared for e-LS connect via a software update.

A step toward standardized hydraulic connection

With e-LS connect, Fendt and ROPA are jointly setting a milestone on the path to cross-manufacturer, standardized hydraulic connection in modern agriculture. "Thanks to the consistent digitalization of hydraulic communications, machines all along the chain become more efficient for the first time – from the tractor to the implements. For users, this means greater precision, comfort and sustainability in their daily work."
