For the anniversary, Harlander Landtechnik organized a big exhibition, with a total area of more than 3,700 square meters.

Harlander Landtechnik GmbH was established in 1991 by Leonhard Harlander. Since then, the goal of this family-owned company has been healthy growth. "Our operation distinguishes itself through perfect service and a fair price-performance ratio. Personal contact and the honest relationship with our customers are very important to us," is how company founder and managing director Leonhard Harlander describes the company's philosophy.

Harlander Landtechnik team

About 15 expert, trained employees help Harlander's customers with passion. "Without our team, we wouldn't be where we are now," says junior boss Michael Harlander. And it's not without some pride that he points out that the company has trained apprentices for 25 years. Currently, the company is training five agricultural machine mechatronics technicians. There is very little fluctuation at Harlander.

In the computer-assisted spare parts warehouse, there is a selection of more than 16,000 spare parts for customers, so that the machines are ready for use again as quickly as possible. The warehouse is constantly filled up. This family-owned operation offers a broad spectrum of new and used machines in stock. Many machines are reworked at Harlander to suit customers' needs and desires. The concept relies on three pillars: agricultural and garden technology, asparagus technology, and potato technology. With regard to potato technology, the company has gained a lot of knowledge in recent years. "The first potato harvester was delivered to the customer in 1993. With the companies ROPA, Baselier, and Bilsma Hercules, we have strong manufacturers to help us," report the Harlanders. "We aren't a dealer in the usual sense, but rather a dealer and mechanical engineering company all in one." Over the years, many things have grown. During a tour of the plant, the company boss points out a high-wheel tractor from McCormick, which was rebuilt at the customer's request.

At Harlander, a lot of value is placed on service and spare parts. Versatility, flexibility, and above-average service offerings for customers are the company's core competencies. Michael Harlander points out a few of the company's accomplishments: "Repairs of all agricultural machines from all manufacturers. Air conditioning service with certified employees, state-of-the-art and in-house field spraying test bench for acceptance of the pesticide equipment test; TÜV visits us twice a month and our team in the repair shop provides professional support." An electronic test bench with evaluation software, several service vehicles for mobile deployments, etc. are available. With regard to tire service, we provide advice, sales, and mounting from a single source. During harvest time, the company offers extended business hours and an emergency call number. Furthermore, there are custom-manufactured hydraulic lines.
Harlander is able to deliver many parts from its stock. Quick procurement (night express) and attractive prices are the priority in this complex spare parts warehouse. The generously dimensioned spare parts warehouse with approximately 16,000 different spare and wear parts from primary suppliers. This ensures a quick and reliable spare parts supply.

"Thanks to the cooperation with selected suppliers, we gain precisely the skills in spare parts management that guarantee the best possible advising and optimal spare parts procurement for our customers. Our team always seeks an optimal solution," concludes the managing director, "for time is money."

From pros for pros

"We have been active in the asparagus sector since 1986. In the beginning with hired labor, later with our own asparagus cultivation. From this, we got a lot of ideas for asparagus machine in the field in order to create ideal conditions for asparagus cultivation. Until 2012, we mostly imported machines from Greece, which we marketed and retrofitted on customer request. Since customers' desires became ever more extensive and complex, in 2012 we decided to put machines that we had developed and built on the market," reports Leonhard Harlander about an important sector at the company. From a small asparagus digger to a bit asparagus ridge former, we have everything for optimal asparagus cultivation. The motto at Harlander is "From pros for pros."

And Harlander has specialized with regard to asparagus. Our lines include front and rear-operation ridge formers, disc harrows, diggers, choppers, harrows, and mulchers, to name just a few. "We manufacture everything and do all the planning. We've figured it all out ourselves," says Leonhard Harlander, showing us his own welding shop. He and his son Michael studied agricultural and construction machine mechatronics; he's the second managing director at the company.
As a contractor, Leonhard Harlander learned a lot about cultivating asparagus, and he incorporated his experience into the construction of the machines. The company holds numerous patents. The managing directors are especially proud of two awards at the SE expo: "Innovation Best of 2015 and 2020" for asparagus and soil-preparation equipment. The company is represented in many European countries. These include France, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Austria. "With regard to asparagus equipment, we are currently the second-largest producer and dealer in Germany for machines in the fields. We don't have anything to do with the processing of asparagus from the field," adds the company founder.

Before starting work in the fields, the Harlanders want to present customers with a few innovations and with their varied product lines. From garden technology and soil-preparation devices for farming, trailers, forest equipment, grassland technology, precision farming and transport technology; there was something for everyone to see.

Thank you very much to the Harlander family and their team for the super organization of the exhibition and the especially good support for our ROPA products in the region!
