From June 29 until July 02, the Volga Field Days took place in Kazan for the second time. Based on the DLG Field Days in Germany, the trade fair organisers IFWexpo Heidelberg GmbH and Kazanskaya Yarmarka JSC have organised the "International Field Days in the Volga Region" for the second time.
All kinds of agricultural technology could be found in the exhibition grounds. A wide range of agricultural machinery manufacturers also demonstrated their machines in use on the 48 testing grounds.
"Potato Land" was new for 2016 at the exhibition. This was an exhibition area covering everything about potatoes. The Republic of Tatarstan has a potato harvest of up to 1.5 million tonnes per year and is the second most productive area in Russia. Plant material, equipment, and machines for tilling fields were exhibited as well as harvesting technology, storage and logistics solutions.
The visit of the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov, to the ROPA stand, was a great honour.
