Experience potato harvesting live with "The Program with the Elephant" - Moritz accompanies Jule as she harvests potatoes with a ROPA Keiler 1.
We would like to announce a special collaboration with WDR. As part of the popular children's TV show "The Program with the Elephant", an exciting video featuring potato harvesting with the ROPA Keiler 1 was released in advance on YouTube. The TV broadcast date is planned for this summer, but has not yet been set. The video offers viewers, especially children and their parents, fascinating impressions of the modern farming world.
WDR approached ROPA with the idea of showing young viewers and adults alike what potato harvesting is all about. Sebastian Grünig, company representative at ROPA Rhineland, welcomed the production team in the field and demonstrated the impressive performance of the ROPA Keiler 1 potato harvester.
In the video, Moritz accompanies farmer Jule as she harvests potatoes with the potato harvester. She explains the harvesting process in a child-friendly way as follows: "The ROPA Keiler 1 lifts the potatoes out of the ground and transports them into the machine. There, the potatoes are separated from the soil on a sieve conveyor and the potato haulm is removed on a haulm conveyor. The pintle belt, equipped with knob-like spikes, cleans the potatoes of any remaining soil. The spacious potato bunker of the Keiler 1 can hold up to six tonnes of potatoes, which are then unloaded into a trailer. A tractor pulls the potato harvester during the entire process."
A particular highlight of the video is that Moritz gets to ride on the potato harvester at the end and experience the harvest up close. This child-friendly and vivid presentation demonstrates the efficiency and user-friendliness of our machines.
"The Program with the Elephant" is aimed at children aged 3 to 6 and their parents and offers valuable educational content in an entertaining form. We at at ROPA are proud to be a part of this wonderful initiative and to inspire the next generation to take an interest in agriculture.
