First field reports of the ROPA Tiger 6S with wheel share lifter summarised in a detailed brochure. During recent campaigns, selected customers have already harvested sugar beet using the Tiger 6S with the newly developed ROPA wheel share lifter. The new lifting unit has been tested extensively in a wide range of climatic and soil conditions and continuously optimised. This season, we are once again collecting field feedback for our R&D department in order to offer our customers the best technology for harvesting sugar beet.

Jobst Thiele - Otto and Rainer Thiele GbR contracting company from Lower Saxony, Germany

Our family runs an agricultural contracting business in Lower Saxony, north-west of Hanover. Harvesting sugar beet has always been in our range of services. In 2017, we acquired our first ROPA machine, the Tiger 6, due to the impressive technological features and first-class service offered by Palandt.

Based on the close cooperation and technical skills of our workshop employees, ROPA agreed to sell us the first Tiger 6 with the wheel share lifter so that we could test the efficiency of the system in order to optimise it further. We started the 2021 harvest campaign with the Tiger 6 with wheel share lifter in our fleet."

Jörn Honermeier and Stefan Leschke - Rüben- und Dienstleistungs AG Nord, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

"We have been working with ROPA for many years. In the past, we used various machines, initially second hand and later new machines. In 2022, we had an opportunity to operate a machine with the wheel share lifter from a different manufacturer. In the process, we noticed some positive features of this type of lifter. When it came to choosing the basic harvester and the technology, we clearly wanted a ROPA beet harvester again. This wish was also based on the outstanding service provided by ADAP Technik GmbH.

We discussed our requirements with Michel Walter, the ROPA factory representative, who then forwarded them to the factory in Sittelsdorf. Finally, we have acquired a new Tiger 6Sd with a wheel share lifter and a topper with combined shaft for the 2023 campaign. By the end of the season in mid-December, we successfully harvested over 900 hectares."

Zdeněk Šilar - Managing Director of DAGROS, Czech Republic

"DAGROS represents the ROPA brand in the Czech and Slovak Republics for over 20 years. Personally, I have been working with ROPA for more than 25 years. During this time, we sold more than 140 machines to almost 60 customers. These customers chose ROPA machines for their performance, reliability and, above all, their ability to cope with even extremely challenging harvesting conditions. This machine began its work in 2022, when the fields were already very wet and the usual harvesters were waiting for the frost. Despite such difficult conditions,
the wheel share unit proved that it was designed precisely for such challenges. After a few metres on muddy soils, we saw that the whole beets were picked and the soil content was acceptable. It's a result we don't normally get under such conditions."

Francis Romac - Groupe Denis Kuchly, France

"My name is Francis Romac, and I work for Groupe Denis Kuchly. Our company is one of the largest service providers in the agricultural sector in France, with over 400 employees and more than 40 years of experience.By now we've harvested 4 campaigns using the wheel share lifter and these 4 years of work were really worth it. These campaigns went very well. The German and French technicians were regularly on site to monitor the performance of the wheel share lifter in order to make the necessary changes and improvements to the harvesting efficiency. We really appreciate the fact that our two companies are in a truly reliable partnership."

Martin Beauvallet - SARL BEAUCHAMPS, France

"My father, my uncle and myself are all farmers and partners in our farm in Greneville-en-Beauce, about 15 kilometres from ROPA Janville in Loiret. Here, we have a mixed farm with cattle farming and cultivate a total of 243 ha of land. We grow cereals, potatoes and, of course, sugar beets on approx. 35 ha.We used to share an old machine
with one of our neighbours. But then some great opportunities appeared in 2016, especially with the cancellation of sugar beet quotas and the urgent need for new machines here in the Beauce region. I was convinced that we needed a new machine for sugar beet harvesting in order to further expand our agricultural business.

Since 2021, we have been working with a ROPA wheel share lifter prototype on this machine. It is much more flexible, both on sandy and heavy soils. The average soil content
has fallen from 35 % to 15 % and the wheel shares pick up the beets better, which reduces losses."

Contractor Dalmose Vognmandsforretning ApS, Denmark

"My name is Henrik Jørgensen and I run an agricultural contracting company in Denmark which specialises in the sugar beet production.Today, our vehicle fleet consists of five Tiger 6 harvesters, two ROPA beet harvesters that have been converted into transporters and work as self-propelled transport vehicles in combination with the beet harvesters, and four ROPA Maus loaders. In 2023, we decided to expand our fleet with a new 9-row ROPA Tiger 6S XL and a new ROPA Tiger 6S with the wheel share lifter. The wheel share system proved to cope with these challenges effortlessly, harvesting the sugar beet with minimal soil and weeds sticking to it and delivering a clean crop to the bunker."

ROPA R&D Team about the wheel share lifter

It took 6 years for our highly motivated teams of R&D and Customer Service to develop a wheel share lifter ready for the market launch, which outperforms all previously known wheel share lifters in terms of functionality and efficiency.

Hans Hendlmeier - Service technician, support for wheel share lifter project in the field

Back in 2014, I was personally on site with a ROPA Panther harvester and tested various lifting methods in order to improve harvesting results on sticky soils. It is a particularly enriching experience for me personally to be able to offer our customers a solution that outperforms everything available
on the market so far.

Michael Gruber, Head of ROPA Sugar Beet Technology

For 80 per cent of all harvesting conditions that we know of, the RR harvesting unit with vibrating share is the most reasonable and efficient solution. The ROPA wheel share lifting unit (RW lifter) is a perfect solution
for the lifting conditions for which we had no suitable technology before.

ROPA can always offer the best comprehensive technology for harvesting sugar beet.

ROPA Tiger 6S with RW lifting unit

The ROPA Tiger 6S with the RW lifting unit and rubber defoliator will also be available for the 2025/26 harvesting campaign

ROPA wheel share lifter with rubber topper. The ROPA wheel share lifter (RW) is not a ‘standard lifting unit’, but has been specially developed for extreme and challenging harvesting conditions that often push harvesters with conventional lifters to their limits. It is particularly effective in difficult conditions such as heavily weeded crops and sticky soils, e.g. in valleys or clayey areas.
