The first self-propelled sugar beet harvester was used by Hermann Paintner in 1972 in Sittelsdorf. ROPA was founded in 1986. For 30 years now, innovative sugar beet technology has been developed and produced in Sittelsdorf under the ROPA brand. For the last four years, ROPA has been a manufacturer of pioneering potato harvesters. Meanwhile, ROPA is now active in over 40 countries and on all continents.
The anniversary was celebrated, innovations were introduced, and current topics were discussed as part of the symposium.

Presentation of the Goldene Zuckerrübe (golden sugar beet) to Hermann Paintner
The Süddeutschen Anbauerverbände and Südzucker presented Hermann Paintner with the Goldene Zuckerrübe for his life's work. Dr. Jochen Fenner from SZVG and Alfons Münch, a representative of Südzucker presented the Goldene Zuckerrübe together with Dr. Klaus Ziegler, from the Verband der Fränkischen Zuckerrübenbauer.
