For the best possible service and care - optimally designed to meet the requirements of professional high-performance machines

The trademarks of ROPA are practical, long-lived and very reliable machines. More than 150 control valves, 39 hydraulic drives, 16 hydraulic pumps and more than 100 cylinders are controlled from the driver's seat of the 768 hp ROPA Tiger 6. The stepless CVR transmission transmits power to the hydraulic drive system with three powered axles and automatic slope compensation. More than 1.1 km of hydraulic lines support the extremely high efficiency of the ROPA Tiger 6 and make it one of the most technically complex harvesters available in the agricultural world.

Of course so many drives with complex hydraulics demand appropriate care. The best possible lubricating oils designed for the engine, transmission and axles are the most important factor. However, oil is not simply oil. There are major differences in quality even if the labels look the same. Many operators only realise this fact after suffering expensive damage to their machines where analysis of the oil would have revealed its poor quality or premature ageing.

The optimal lubricants for ROPA machines

ROPA has decided to introduce its own brand of custom-designed lubricants to ensure that ROPA customers and service centres can be confident that the lubricants they use are of optimal quality and have a long service life. ROPA is a certified member of SAIL, an association of European oil producers and oil dealers, meets the certifications of ACEA and is subject to the highest quality requirements, which are continuously monitored by the European Engine Lubricant Quality Management System (EELQMS).

Our new ROPA range of lubricants is 100% Made in Germany!

Good range of oils – order from the ROPA central warehouse and ROPA service centres

Engine oil, hydraulic oils, five types of gear oils and one type of grease can be ordered from ROPA and company service centres. The range covers all applications. ROPA lubricants have wide approval and offer top quality at a reasonable price-performance ratio. ROPA lubricants are available in 20-litre containers, 60 and 208-litre disposable drums and in 1000-litre IBC containers. The grease is available in 18 and 25-kg buckets.

The original reason for developing the ROPA lubricant range was to prevent damage and extend the service life of all parts of our machines. The use of ROPA lubricants is the best means of preventing expensive repairs, particularly for diesel engines, axles and transmissions. For this reason, in future all ROPA service centres throughout Europe will be using ROPA premium quality lubricants for servicing ROPA machines.

ROPA offers five different types of gear oil to ensure the best oil is available for every application.

  • ROPA gearOil GL5 90 Gear oil is manufactured from special base oils with specific additives. The viscosity is selected to guarantee good flow properties at low temperatures and also good lubrication at high temperatures. ROPA gearOil GL5 90 gear oil is specially designed for heavy-duty hypoid drive axles and for bevel and spur gearboxes, steering boxes and manual transmissions in vehicles and machines with API GL-5 requirements.

  • ROPA gearOil GL5 90 LS is particularly recommended for heavy-duty hypoid drive axles with self-locking differentials or multi-disc brakes. ROPA gearOil GL5 90 LS contains special additives for limiting slip (LS: limited slip). ROPA gearOil GL5 90 LS meets all requirements specified for hypoid gears with multi-disc limited slip differentials. It is particularly suited for all differential gears in ROPA harvesters in which wet multi-disc brakes are integrated. Combined manual and axle transmissions can be lubricated just as well as vehicles with transfer cases, particularly for agricultural use. ROPA gearOil GL5 90 LS can be used in fleets with different vehicles to reduce the number of different types of oil in use, including in all drive axles that require API GL 5.

  • ROPA gearOil GL5 75W-90 synth is a fully synthetic low-friction multifunction gear oil for very heavy duty axle and manual transmissions. The SAE 75W-90 viscosity guarantees outstanding flow properties at low temperatures and also maximum lubrication security at high temperatures. The special low-friction properties of ROPA gearOil GL5 75W-90 synth also ensure reduced fuel consumption. ROPA gearOil GL5 75W-90 synth is suitable for universal application in manual transmissions, auxiliary drives and axle gearboxes in commercial vehicles, agricultural machines, construction machines and passenger cars. The API GL-4 and API GL-5 requirements are easily met. ROPA gearOil GL5 75W-90 synth can also be used without problems in gearboxes that require gear oils complying with MAN 341 Type E3 and MAN 342 Type M3.

  • ROPA gearOil GL5 75W-140 LS synth is a fully synthetic hypoid gear oil with LS additive and is particularly recommended for heavy-duty drive axles with self-locking differentials or multi-disc brakes. It is extremely resistant to high temperatures, which extends the service life of lubricant and axle. Very good flow properties at low temperatures provide increased protection immediately after starting. ROPA gearOil GL5 75W-140 LS synth contains special additives for limiting slip (LS: limited slip). ROPA gearOil GL5 75W-140 LS synth meets all requirements specified for hypoid gears with multi-disc limited slip differentials. ROPA gearOil GL5 75W-140 LS synth can also be used without problems in gearboxes that require gear oils complying with MB sheet 235.61 and ZF TE-ML.

  • ROPA gearFluid ATF is a gear oil for automatic transmissions, gearboxes with multi-disc clutches and is also used as hydraulic oil in a wide range of applications. Gear changes are made smoother with special additives on the friction surfaces in the gearbox. ROPA gearFluid ATF conforms to the General Motors ATF Dexron II D specification and is specified by major motor vehicle manufacturers who use automatic transmission that require Dexron II D. ROPA gearFluid ATF can also be used in automatic transmissions that conform to the Mercedes-Benz MB sheet 236.1 specification.

ROPA engineOil E7 10W-40 motor oil is optimally designed for all diesel engines used in ROPA self-propelled machines. It meets and exceeds the specifications for all MAN, Mercedes and Volvo engines in ROPA machines. The specifications also make it suitable for a very large number of diesel engines used in agricultural machinery. ROPA engineOil E7 10W-40 motor oil is approved for Mercedes according to MB sheet 228.5 and for Volvo according to VDS-3 (STD 417-0002). It can also be used in MAN diesel engines with specifications according to MAN M 3277 and MAN M 3377.

ROPA hydroFluid HVLP 46 hydraulic oil can be used without restrictions in all ROPA beet harvesters, loaders and potato harvesters. ROPA hydroFluid HVLP 46 has a particularly good viscosity-temperature ratio (high-VI hydraulic oils). Paraffin-based primary raffinate is used exclusively as the base oil. Even under extreme temperature variations and cold starts at temperatures below zero ROPA hydroFluid HVLP 46 provides a very high degree of uniformity in operation of the machine. The optimal properties for protection from wear, corrosion and oxidation guarantee the best possible functional safety and minimum wear of pumps, drives and control blocks in the hydraulic system. ROPA hydroFluid HVLP 46 hydraulic oil meets the specifications for HVLP 46 hydraulic oil in accordance with DIN 51524 Part 3 and HV 46 hydraulic oil according to ISO 11158.

ROPA also offers ROPA multi temperature grease 2 a lithium EP grease of the NLGI 2 class. This grease is ideally suited for the BEKA-MAX requirements in central lubrication systems. It also complies with MAN specifications with reference to the MAN 283 Li-P2 and Mercedes-Benz factory standards (operating material specification sheet 267). This grease formed the basis for the ROPA range of grease products several years ago, because standard greases available on the market had often caused problems with central lubrication systems at low outside temperatures. The ROPA multi temperature grease 2 has been able to eliminate these problems reliably.
