The Matzerath family from Titz-Sevenich
Reliable planning even in turbulent times
At the beginning of October we visited the Matzerath family in Linnich. The ROPA Keiler 2 there has been in operation since last season 2020.
Kilian Matzerath, who cultivates potatoes for French fries, was thrilled as he harvested it for the first time this year with the Keiler: "The operation is quite simple and user-friendly."
His father Jürgen Matzerath pointed out that the 2020 harvest campaign was significantly less stressful with the ROPA Keiler: "Thanks to the high effectiveness of the Keiler, we are not pressed in time that much, especially during the otherwise stressful harvesting season, and in some cases can even help the neighbouring farms."
Werreland GbR from Kirchlenger chooses Keiler 2 once again
At Werreland GbR from Kirchlenger, two Keiler 2 have already been running since 2017. They were exchanged in 2020 and now two brand new ROPA Keiler 2 are coming for the new season to exchange the last ones.
The head of operations, Wesseling told us how they ended up with the Keilers back then. A neighbouring farm performed a trial harvesting with its Keiler at Werreland GbR in 2016.
"At that time, we could already see that good product protection was achieved even for the sensitive crop varieties," reports Wesseling.
Potatoes for chips are particularly sensitive to damage due to the high starch content. He added that another reason to choose ROPA Keiler was the 3-metre road width.Due to the relatively small field sizes, Werreland GbR grows around 350 ha of potatoes on more than 70 separate fields. The telescopic axle makes the ROPA Keiler, with its 3-metre road width, particularly suitable for frequent field change and road travel.
Looking back, Werreland GbR would choose the ROPA Keiler again at any time. "Strictly speaking, we have already chosen the ROPA Keiler 2 again," says Wesseling smiling.
ROPA Keiler demonstrations in 2021
The Keiler is fully convincing
Those who have not chosen ROPA technology to harvest potatoes and vegetables yet had the opportunity to experience our ROPA Keilers for themselves. Regardless of whether it was table potato or crop for industrial use, during the demonstration runs carried out by our ROPA Rhineland branch in Viersen together with our local service and sales partners Greving Landmaschinen, RWZ Agrarzentrum Rommerskirchen and Landtechnik Pechtheyden RWZ, our harvesters were able to inspire and convince many interested visitors with their high efficiency and gentle handling of the product.
