Sittelsdorf / Kazan. At the celebrations of the 10 years of ROPA Povolzihe in Kazan, Russia, ROPA founder and managing director Hermann Paintner was awarded a medal of honour in gold for his contributions to the development of the sugar industry in Russia. Hermann Paintner is so far the only "non-Russian" to have been awarded this medal in gold. The award was particularly intended to honour his untiring work in the development and manufacture of powerful and extremely reliable self-propelled machines for harvesting, cleaning and loading sugar beets. His inventions and continuing development of harvesting technology have made it possible to harvest sugar beets gently and efficiently even under difficult weather conditions.

The medal was awarded by Andrei Borisovich Bodin, the chairman of the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia, with its head office in Moscow. He also awarded a certificate with signature and best wishes from the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Petr Tschekmarev, who is also the director for plant production, agricultural technology and plant protection in Russia.

Other medals were awarded to Petr Bykov, the managing director of ROPA Russia, and to Genadii Suchorukov, the managing director of ROPA Povolzihe.

Gabdrahmanov Ildus Harisovich, representing the Minister for Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, conveyed best wishes from the Agricultural Ministry of the Republic Tatarstan. ROPA Povolzihe, the subsidiary for service and marketing in Tartastan, celebrated its 10th anniversary in December. The company has a total of 12 employees.
