Harlander Landtechnik celebrated its 33th anniversary with a large in-house exhibition covering an area of over 3,700 square metres.

Harlander Landtechnik GmbH was founded in 1991 by Leonhard Harlander. Since then, the family business aims to grow steadily and healthily. "Our company is recognised first and foremost for its impeccable service and fair price-performance ratio. Personal contact and honest relationships with our customers are very important to us," describes the philosophy of the company its founder and managing director Leonhard Harlander.

Harlander Landtechnik Team

The Harlander team consists of over 15 skilled and trained employees committed to supporting customers. "Without our team, we wouldn't get to where we are today," says the junior manager Michael Harlander. He proudly points out that they have been training apprentices for over 25 years. Five mechatronics technicians specialised in agricultural machinery are being trained currently at the Harlander Landtechnik. Staff turnover at Harlander is very low.

In the computerised spare part warehouse, more than 16,000 spare parts are available for customers to ensure that the machines are back in operation as quickly as possible. The warehouse is constantly restocked. The family business also offers a wide range of new and used machines available and on order. Many machines are customised at Harlander to meet the requirements and wishes of the customers. The company's concept is based on three pillars: agricultural and garden technology, asparagus technology and potato technology. In terms of potato technology, the company has acquired a great deal of expertise in recent years. "In 1993, the first potato harvester was delivered to the customer. With such companies as ROPA, Baselier and Bilsma Hercules, we have strong manufacturers in our portfolio," say the Harlanders. "We are not just dealers in the true sense of the word, but dealers and machine constructors under one roof." During the tour, the managing director shows a McCormick high-wheel tractor, which has been customised to the requirements of the customer.

Harlander values service and spare parts very highly. Versatility, flexibility and an outstanding range of services for customers are the core strengths of the company. Michael Harlander lists just a few of the services the company provides: "Repair of all types of agricultural machinery. Air conditioning service by certified employees, modern and own field sprayer test stand for the inspection of crop protection equipment, twice a month in-house TÜV inspection, professional support by our team in the repair workshop". An electronic dynamometer with analysis software, several service vehicles for remote operations and so on are provided as well. The tyre service includes consulting, sales and installation under one roof. During harvest time, the company offers extended business hours and an emergency telephone number. In addition, it offers customised hydraulic hoses.
Harlander supplies many parts directly from stock. The fastest possible procurement ("night express") and attractive prices are the top priorities of the complex spare part warehouse. It is guaranteed by the large spare part warehouse with around 16,000 different spare and wear parts from the main suppliers. This ensures a fast and reliable supply of spare parts.

"By working with carefully selected suppliers, we gain the skills in the spare parts management sector that guarantee the best possible support and optimum procurement of spare parts for our customers. Our team is always looking for an optimal solution," adds the Managing Director, "because time is money".

Professionals for professionals

"We have been active in the asparagus sector since 1986, initially as a contractor company and later cultivating asparagus ourselves. Many ideas for our asparagus technology come from our own experience gained in the field as we wanted to create the optimum conditions for its cultivation. Until 2012, we mainly imported machines from Greece, which we then distributed and converted according to customer requirements. As the requirements became more and more extensive and complex, we decided to enter the market in 2012 with the machines, we designed and built ourselves," said Leonhard Harlander about an important segment of the company. The range includes everything from a small asparagus cultivator to a large asparagus bed former. The Harlander's slogan is " Professionals for professionals".

Harlander became a recognised specialist when it comes to asparagus. The product portfolio includes, e.g. front and rear-operated tillers, disc ploughs, cultivators, hoes, harrows and mulchers etc. "We manufacture everything ourselves, including the planning. We've learnt it all by ourselves," says Leonhard Harlander and demonstrates company's welding shop. He and his son Michael both studied agricultural and construction mechatronics and the son is the company's second managing director.
As a contractor, Leonhard Harlander has learnt a lot about growing asparagus and has incorporated his experience into the construction of the machines. The company owns numerous patents. Both managing directors are particularly proud of two awards at Expo SE "Innovation Best of 2015 and 2020" for asparagus and tillage technology. The company is represented in many European countries. These include France, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria. "When it comes to asparagus technology, we are currently the second-largest producer and dealer in Germany. There is no need to further process the asparagus from the field," adds the company founder.

Before the harvesting season starts, the Harlanders want to show their customers some new and an extensive range of already existing products. The exhibition covered everything from garden technology to tillage equipment for arable farming, tractors, forestry equipment, grassland technology, precision farming and transport technology.

We are very grateful to the Harlander family and the company for the great organisation of the exhibition and the incredibly good support of our ROPA products in the region!
